Bill Pay, powered by Melio, is designed to streamline your business's payment processes, giving you more control over cash flow and saving you valuable time. With this feature, you can manage all your bill payments directly within the Gusto platform, eliminating the need for multiple tools. 

By utilizing Bill Pay powered by Melio, you can automate your bill payments, save time, improve accuracy, and increase security, all while managing your business finances more effectively.

  • Centralized management: Pay all your bills in one place—right alongside your payroll. No more juggling between different platforms.
  • Flexible payment options: Choose your preferred payment method: bank transfer, check, or credit card. Your vendors can also select how they receive payments, whether by bank transfer or check. Vendors selecting to be paid via bank transfer can receive funds directly to their account, within minutes.1
  • Cash flow insights: As you pay bills through Gusto, you unlock valuable insights that assist in forecasting future expenses and managing your cash flow effectively.
  • Accounting software integration: Sync your Bill Pay information with QuickBooks & Xero Sync
  • Expense tracking: Automatically track and categorize bills, simplifying your financial management.
How to use Bill Pay

Set up Bill Pay 

Bill Pay can be set up by a Global or Primary Admin in Gusto. Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to your Gusto admin account.
  2. Go to the Money tab and select Bill pay.
  3. Select Get Started to set up Bill Pay.

Pay bills

After you’ve enrolled in Bill Pay, you’re ready to start paying bills right from Gusto. Go to the Money tab to create or import bills to pay. You'll have the option to import a bill by uploading it or syncing from QuickBooks or Xero. You can also forward your bill to your unique forwarding address, or use Gmail integration.

Once a payment is scheduled, it’s added to the Payments tab.

For any questions or issues relating to Bill Pay, contact Melio directly from within your Gusto account by following the steps below.

Melio support hours of operation: Monday–Friday 9am–8pm ET (excluding bank holidays).

Chat

Global and Primary admins can access Melio chat from their Gusto account:

  1. In Gusto, go to the Money tab and select Bill pay.
  2. Next to the + New payment button, click the Settings icon.
  3. Go to the Support tab.
  4. Under “Contact us,” select Start a chat.

A specialist will respond within 90 seconds.

Email

Global and Primary admins can create an email case from their Gusto account:

  1. In Gusto, go to the Money tab and select Bill pay.
  2. Next to the + New payment button, click the Settings icon.
  3. Go to the Support tab.
  4. Under “Contact us,” select Help Center.
  5. In the top-right corner, click Submit a question.
  6. Fill in the required information and select Submit.
    • Make sure to enter the same email address that’s associated with your Gusto account.

A specialist will respond to your email within 12 business hours.

Access to Bill Pay, powered by Melio, is included in your Gusto subscription for eligible companies. The Gusto Money Plus tier is a paid add-on that unlocks additional features such as accounting integrations, batch payments, and reduced transaction fees.
